The flowers will be out. But the crowds won’t.
Floriade will not proceed in Commonwealth Park, Canberra in 2021 due to the uncertainly of the ACT’s lockdown dates. Canberrans will still be able to enjoy the burst of spring colour throughout the capital’s city centre and suburbs with over 400 planter boxes and pots destined for Commonwealth Park to be redistributed throughout the community.
The boxes and pots, containing over 60,000 blooms, will brighten the city and supplement the 300,000 bulbs and annuals already planted. There will be flowers in bloom in Commonwealth Park throughout spring, but the ACT Government is discouraging large-scale gatherings.
