It’s about to be a Bonza Bonanza!
The Sunshine Coast has officially welcomed Australia’s only independent low cost airline with its first aircraft, the Boeing 737 MAX.
This is set to be part of a brand new fleet of economic aircraft based in Melbourne and the Sunshine Coast to start.
Welcoming Aussie travellers from 17 destinations with 27 different routes, Bonza is most definitely going to cause a stir in the aviation industry down under.
Some of the airline’s destinations include Cairns, Melbourne, Sunshine Coast and the Whitsunday Coast.
And it’s a true Aussie initiative, with travellers being encouraged to download the Fly Bonza App in order to directly book flights and make their flight preferences minus a third party booking agent.
Here, passengers can also have a stab at naming the planes by posting their suggested nick-names to Bonza’s social media pages. One can only imagine how creative this is going to get! Dare we suggest Sheila… and Bruce?
The planes’ interiors are also to be fitted out on home soil, something Tim Jordan, CEO of Bonza says “seems only right… that we bring home our first aircraft to have its final touches put on by Australians locally.”
The airline is aiming to be commercially airborne by late September and estimates flights will cost as little as $50 per hour a passenger is in the air, with 8kgs of carry-on baggage included in the price.
