Brisbane’s Gallery of Modern Art is getting an exciting new exhibition, Chiharu Shiota: The Soul Trembles, from June 18 to October 3 later this year.
It will be Chiharu Shiota’s largest ever solo exhibition, and you can expect to see her trademark weaved maze installations throughout the gallery.
The exhibition was originally meant to arrive in Australia in 2020, but due to COVID has instead been posted 53 storeys high in Japan. It will soon be revealed how much of the Japanese exhibition will make its way to Brisbane.
Other exhibitions coming to Queensland include Transitions at GOMA from August 20, Knowledge: Queensland Contemporary Art at the Queensland Art Gallery from August 13 and the 10th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art at GOMA from now until April 25.
