The Ghan is setting out on an epicurean adventure to the Clare Valley, which is known for its food and wine.
Pete Egglestone, Chief Commercial Officer for Journey Beyond, the operator of The Ghan, explained: “We think the Clare Valley is a pretty special part of South Australia – it is one of the country’s oldest wine regions after all. And we like wine. So, we’re launching a limited-edition one-day train experience that pairs Clare Valley wines, vines and winemakers with The Ghan experience.”
The round-trip journey from Adelaide Parklands Terminal begins with a fabulous pre-departure celebration. Once on board, guests can relax and enjoy breakfast.
On arrival in the Clare Valley, luxury coaches transport guests to a local winery for a wine-tasting, and then it’s off to enjoy a three-course lunch amongst the vines at another local winery.
At day’s end, guests will re-board the train and enjoy a final glass of wine or port, paired with cheese and chocolate, on the return ride to Adelaide.
Tickets for The Taste of the Ghan cost from $550 per person and depart on selected dates in November.
