A new table has landed in the tablelands.
The humble town of Rockley has only 10 streets but on one of those now sits a pub owned by beloved Australian chef Matt Moran. Already boasting Sydney venues such as Woollahra’s Chiswick, the Art Gallery of NSW’s fine diner, Opera Bar and Aria, the Rockley Pub is a slight change of pace for Mr Moran.
He said: “I’m excited to reopen the pub for the locals of Rockley and the region. This is just the start of our plans for the Rockley pub.”
Later this year the pub is set to open a beer garden, as well as firing up a wood-fired oven for pizzas and increasing seating capacity.
The celebrity chef is also intent on building up the town as a whole, with plans for a general store and bakery also in the pipeline, as well as a $10 bus service from Bathurst to Rockley.
“This is going to be a project that I will work on for years to come,” he said.
