As Victoria and NSW prepare to reopen their borders, Qantas and Jetstar are launching a 24-hour flash sale where fares will be available for as little as $20.
Today Jetstar and Qantas launched the sale to coincide with the Victorian government’s plan to lift border restrictions for fully vaccinated people from the November 5, 2021.
Jetstar’s 24-hour flash sale will see passengers nab one-way flights from Melbourne to Sydney, Newcastle and Byron Bay and from Avalon to Sydney for just $20.
Jetstar Group CEO Gareth Evans said, “As Victoria and NSW approach the 80% double vaccination target, and travel between the two states looks set to reopen, we know there will be many people wanting to plan a well-earned holiday or visit loved ones.
“With Jetstar fares as low as $20, we expect these seats to be snapped up quickly, helping to revive the tourism industry and support local businesses, as well as get more of our people back to work.”
If you travel through Qantas you can pick up all-inclusive fares for just $99 one-way between Melbourne and Sydney and sale fares across six regional routes between Victoria and NSW.
More options will be available to Victorians who will be able to fly direct from the coastal city of Byron Bay, with Qantas announcing new direct flights. From the 5th of November 2021, Qantas will offer flights to Ballina three days a week using their Boeing 737 aircraft. This adds 1,000 seats to the weekly route and complement’s Jetstar’s direct flights from Melbourne.
You’d better get in quick though. Both sales launch at 5pm AEST today with travel periods available between 5th November and mid-December 2021. Limited travel dates are available between January and March 2022 for some Qantas fares.
Qantas is also operating a vaccination reward program, which sees fully vaccinated passengers receive a $20 travel voucher for use across Jetstar or Qantas flights.
To meet increasing demand and eased restrictions, both airlines will be adding more flights to their schedules.
If for some reason the borders close again or the Victorian government changes their re-opening roadmap or customers can’t travel for any reason, they can change the date of their travel under Qantas and Jetstar’s Fly Flexible policies.
