The list of holiday stays says a lot about Riparide, a specialist website for travellers looking for somewhere different. Barn, cave, church, igloo, kiln, shipping container, yurt… No Holiday Inns here.
Founded seven years ago by Marlon Law – he rented out a tepee on his front lawn to kick it off – the site now has an array of quirky experiences, mainly in New South Wales and Victoria.
“Our purpose at Riparide is to inspire people to unplug from modern-day trappings and find fulfillment in nature,” it states on the website. “We all enter the world as little explorers, roaming parks and climbing trees, but as we grow the pressures of society grind away at our adventurous spirit and we disconnect from nature.
“A Riparide experience, whether that’s sitting by a waterfall … or paddling out for a morning surf, exists to help people find those peaceful, exciting … moments in nature that restore balance.
