The ultra-luxurious Baillie Silky Oaks Lodge in the Queensland’s Daintree Rainforest is on track to reopen with a new-look in October 2021. The lodge is undergoing a $15-million renovation.
The hotel group’s founder, Hayley Baillie, has commissioned Indigenous artworks from the local Kuku Yalanji. Artworks from the Cairns Indigenous Art Fair and ceramics from the Yalanji Arts Centre will also feature. Fine art photographer Catherine Nelson has produced large-scale images of the Daintree and its people to adorn lounge areas and suites.
