Virgin Australia has started cutting its prices, with the airline announcing business class fares as much as 60 per cent cheaper than pre-Covid prices.
An airline representative said: “By way of example, a Virgin Australia business class flight from Melbourne to Sydney available on 31 March 2022 is $580 cheaper compared to the same flight in the same class available on 19 November 2019.”
Prices can be had for as low as $299 for one-way flights between any of Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
Business class fares will also start from just $309 for routes from Canberra to Brisbane or the Gold Coast; and from Sydney to Hobart.
Virgin Australia Group CEO Jayne Hrdlicka said: “Our business class airfare pricing is another example of how we have reset our cost base and then invested in creating premium travel experiences at very affordable and competitive prices.”
