Sitting on the doorstep of the Southern Great Barrier Reef, Bundaberg is a quintessential Queensland country town.
Located on the Burnett River, it is known for its famous Bundaberg Rum that was created by five men back in 1888.
Attractions
It’s turtle mania between November and March when turtles head to Mon Repos Beach, Lady Musgrave Island and Lady Elliot Island, to lay eggs in the dunes. Hatchlings erupt from their nests to make a dash to the sea.

The Hinkler Hall of Aviation showcases the life of aviation extraordinaire, Bert Hinkler, who pioneered a solo flight from England to Australia in 1928.
