The arts and culture precinct has just announced its two festive markets, including the Christmas Market for last-minute shoppers. Featured among the 80+ stalls are handmade Christmas puddings, chocolates, confectionery and cakes, Christmas hams, poultry and seafood from small-scale local farmers and producers, vegan alternatives from meat-free roasts to dairy-free cheeses, condiments, pickles and preserves galore, plus the regular range of dairy, eggs, award-winning cheeses, baked goods and pantry essentials for cooking, entertaining and gifting – from tea, coffee, flour, pasta, salt olive oil and spices. Matt Whiley from South Eveleigh’s sustainability-focused RE bar will also be showcasing upcycled ingredients in cocktails and a range of ready-to-eat bar treats.

The Rocks
Hunt the cobbled streets of this historic landmark for ideal one-of-a-kind edible gifts and be entertained by elves on stilts, light-up angels, live music and DJs. Stallholders include Charley’s Chocolate offering irresistible dark and milk chocolate bars, or there are gingerbread houses, gingerbread and vanilla cookies and Cookie and Brownie Packs from stallholders Sweets by Sas. There will also be delicious holiday-themed street food.

Kirribilli Markets
Under the shadow of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, this market features a whole section of food stall specialists including BiscArt’s handmade honey-bread biscuits with Christmas designs, Pudding Lane’s “boiled-in-the-cloth” Christmas Puddings, and the multi-hued Gourmet Macarons to take to your family gathering on the big day.

Juno & Sons
Festive-themed pop-up Juno & Sons offers chef-quality local produce and deli items – plus kitchenware and cookbooks – from a little store in the heart of Paddington, a few steps from Five Ways. Pick up a jar of Cairns Little Tuna’s sweet, white-fleshed albacore and pair it with squid ink fettuccine from Giuls restaurant in Surry Hills, or buy a rich, fermented cherry hot sauce from Angie’s Food in Kangaroo Valley and pile it on indulgent cheeses from the fridge or indulge in buckwheat blinis and salmon caviar from the Yarra Valley. Also available are a range of local sauces, seasonings and dipping sauces from Jimoto Foods, and “unbelievably delicious” curry pastes, pickles and chutneys from Melbourne’s Tamarind Tree. For those wanting a sophisticated gift, owner Terry Higgins will curate a Christmas hamper and beautifully box it for you.
