Heavier than anticipated snowfalls are having the great side effect of kickstarting the Australian ski season.
Perisher announced it has begun operating its chairlifts and Thredbo will be up and running on June 11.
Perisher’s general manager, Belinda Trembath, told News.com: “Conditions were just too good to wait to open this week and we just felt like we wanted to get going today.
“It’s been a tough couple of years for our resort, for our community and our industry. All I’d do is encourage everyone to plan ahead, to book online and to stay safe on the roads.”
