The Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) has confirmed the return of festival Mona Foma, with the release of the full program for January 2022.
The festival will be mounted in Launceston from January 21 to 23 and in Hobart on the weekend of January 28 to 30.
You can expect huge celebrations, with leading Australian musicians and a series of art installations. Highlights include performances from Midnight Oil in both cities, nightly concerts in Launceston’s Royal Park, and AQI2020 in Hobart where New Zealand performance artist Alicia Frankovich turns a sulphur-hazed box into a thrilling live show.
Tasmania reopens its borders on December 15, leaving Mona Foma perfectly positioned for those looking to head down to the state.
Tickets and the full line-up can be found on the website now.
