Virgin Australia CEO Jayne Hrdlicka is anticipating mandatory vaccination for domestic travel as states slowly make their way out of lockdown.
Speaking at a Trans-Tasman Business Circle event, Ms Hrdlicka said for Virgin domestic flights “in November and December (there) will need to be verification of vaccination”.

“That’s my expectation – it’s not been mandated yet by the government, but I would expect that there will be some constraints with respect to first movements as borders come down,” she said.
Ms Hrdlicka also added: “Everybody is wearing a mask inside the airport and on board the aircraft, and I don’t expect that will change for some time.”
Both the New South Wales and Queensland premiers have previously opposed the idea, which is also being suggested for restaurants, entertainment venues and gyms once New South Wales exits lockdown.
While it is all but confirmed that the majority of international flights will require proof of vaccination, announcements can be expected soon on how this may apply to domestic travel.
