The Scenic Rim Clydesdale Spectacular is the richest Clydesdale show in the Southern Hemisphere, and it’s going to be in Boonah on the weekend of June 12-13.
A full program of Clydesdale competitions will be held, along with a series of classes and demonstrations that celebrate these gorgeous horses, the local region and Scottish culture.

You’ll see bush poetry, wood chopping and carriage and harness classes. Boonah has a rich, intertwined history with Clydesdales, which were introduced to the region in the 1840s. Then in the 1960s, Boonah’s breeders were instrumental in maintaining the breed when their numbers were dwindling dangerously low.
“The Scenic Rim Clydesdale Spectacular was born from a desire by local breeders to pay respect to the history and heritage of this magnificent horse,” said event organiser Greta Stanfield.
