But talks over the resumption of home cruising are continuing, a statement from the Department of Health revealed this week. Health Minister Greg Hunt said the biosecurity regulations first imposed on 17 March 2020 would now be extended to June 17 to ensure the government has the powers to prevent and control the virus.
“The COVID-19 situation overseas continues to pose an unacceptable public health risk to Australia, including the emergence of more highly transmissible variants,” he said.
