The only Australian airport to make the top 20 was Melbourne, which snuck in at number 19.
Singapore Changi Airport has been voted World's Best Airport by international air travellers, including Australians, for the 12th time.
At the Skytrax World Airport Awards held in Amsterdam last week, the airport outclassed the winner for the previous two years, Hamad International Airport in Doha, which came second in 2023 in front of third-placed Tokyo Haneda.
It's good news for Australian travellers, who have long counted on Singapore as a layover destination and, since 2009 (COVID-19 notwithstanding) have been getting to know Doha as a stopover point as Qatar Airways has expanded its Australian presence.
The only Australian airport to make the top 20 was Melbourne, which snuck in at No. 19, while Brisbane came in at 23 in the top 100 list, Sydney at 49, Gold Coast at 54, Perth at 58, and Adelaide at 73.
Changi is one of the busiest airports in the world, linking Singapore to about 140 cities around the globe with over 90 airlines operating more than 5500 weekly flights.
