Located in New Zealand's Waikato District - about 1.5 hours south of Auckland - Hobbiton Movie Set has been the go-to for 20 years for fans of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogy. Millions of visitors have explored Bagshot Row, complete with the facades of the 44 Hobbit Holes that starred in the Hollywood blockbusters. But for the first time in two decades, travellers will be able to step inside a Hobbit Hole and wander through its maze of rooms and hallways, created keeping in mind a Hobbit's height.
Meanwhile, a new immersive experience, inspired by the beloved Australian animated TV show Bluey, is coming to Brisbane in August 2024. Housed in a purpose-built 4000-square-metre venue in Northshore (the Queensland capital's hot new arts and entertainment precinct), Bluey's World will feature life-sized sets - from Bluey and Bingo's bedroom to the colourful Poinciana tree in Bluey's backyard. hobbitontours.com; blueysworld.com
