When Hawkesbury residents Clayton and Erin Jude moved to the outskirts of Bathurst, NSW, with their five children about 12 months ago, they were gobsmacked by the location's natural beauty.
Their 120-hectare sheep farm Oak Hill Estate, which produces Merino wool, has breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and valleys. But they weren't content keeping these vistas to themselves - they wanted to share it with everyone. So they built two Glasshouse Cabins, with queen beds, outdoor fire pits and bath tubs, and - most importantly - panoramic views of the setting all day and all night.
"You can sleep under the stars, and watch the day unfold from dawn to dusk from your bed," Clayton tells Explore. "We really want our guests to embrace the beauty of nature and all its elements." The city of Bathurst is just 15 minutes away, but thanks to well-equipped kitchenettes and local dinner packs that you can pre-order, you may never want to leave. oakhillestateglasshouse.com.au
