Caroline Brunel from Tahiti Tourisme spoke to Explore this week about the idyllic South Pacific region. And some tips and advice on where you should go.
What holiday will you be booking this year?
I’m very much looking forward to seeing my family in France after not being able to travel home for two years. I hope to be able to book a trip before the end of the year.
And what about in 2022?
I cannot wait to book a trip to the islands of Tahiti for a pure blissful holiday. It’s the perfect place to reconnect with yourself, your loved ones, and get close to nature. With 118 islands to choose from, it will be a difficult decision of where to start but I’m especially keen on spending some time in Moorea. It’s a beautiful volcanic island just northwest of Tahiti and has a gorgeous bright blue lagoon contrasted by the lush green peaks and cliffs spread across the island. I recommend visiting the Lagoonarium de Moorea, a protected area where you can explore the vibrant coral reefs. You can also help protect the reef by adopting a coral fragment with the Coral Gardeners who will plant it on the reef for you. For people like me who love food, Moorea Food Tours led by local Heimata Hall is an absolute must. On the Tama’a street food tour, Heimata will take you to the hidden culinary spots on the island.
