Virgin is setting families up for the September school holiday period, adding new routes from Adelaide to Launceston and resuming the Adelaide to Darwin route.
Adelaide to Darwin will begin from September 6 and the brand new Adelaide to Launceston will start from September 7.
To celebrate the new routes Virgin is dropping prices right down, with a one-way ticket from Adelaide to Launceston and vice versa only $59 and a business class fare only $299.
If you’re looking to head from Adelaide to Darwin or vice versa, prices are only $119 for economy and $529 for business class.
This sale will last until midnight this Friday, August 13.
The flights are available for select dates between September 2021 and June 2022 and are available to be booked using travel credits.
Checked baggage and seat selection is included in every fare and as a bonus, Virgin is offering double Velocity Frequent Flyer Status Credits on all the bookings made by midnight Tuesday August 10.
Virgin Australia Group Chief Commercial Officer Dave Emerson says the new routes reiterate Virgin focus on reconnecting Australians and increasing domestic travel opportunities.
“With open borders between South Australia and Tasmania and Northern Territory, we’re able to finally start direct flights between Adelaide-Darwin, as well as offer a new direct service between Adelaide-Launceston.”
“I don’t know about others but for me, there’s no better way to clear the lockdown cobwebs than heading off to experience a new place or reconnect with old friends.”
“As Australia’s favourite airline, we are committed to putting more planes in the sky when we can to create more travel opportunities for Australians. Better yet, every booking is flexible to give everybody peace of mind to book.”
With many states’ most recent school holidays being interrupted by sudden lockdowns, these fares arrive just in time for families looking to explore Adelaide, Launceston and Darwin, each of which are great destinations for a family vacation.
